Introduction
The church was designed in 1853 by Sir George Gilbert Scott.
The problems
A leaking, life-expired roof lead to the failure of the plaster ceiling, and an emergency net being installed to catch falling plaster.
Our solution
The opportunity was taken to install insulation-backed plasterboard when reinstating the ceiling, thus not only restoring the internal appearance, but also improving the thermal performance of the church.
The main roofs also were re-tiled using heritage tiles, giving the church a smart appearance inside and out, whilst respecting the historic fabric.
